State League top team - Hawks (16-4) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed thirteenth ranked Suns (4-16) in Floreat 113-65. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 28. Hawks forced 23 Suns turnovers and had a 37-25 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Suns' players. The best player for the winners was center Andrew Ferguson (213-98, college: CS Monterey) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Matthew Leary (190-0, college: Knox) chipped in 19 points and 6 rebounds. Power forward Cooper Lowe (200-97) produced 19 points and 7 rebounds and New Zealand guard Joe Cook-Green (185-97, college: TxWes) added 13 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Hawks maintains first place in League with 16-4 record. Loser Suns keep the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. Hawks will meet at home Senators (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Suns will play against Eagles (#12) in Morley and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
