No shocking result in a game when Wizards crushed Goldrush in Hamilton 91-36 on Saturday. Wizards forced 29 Goldrush turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including 19 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Goldrush's players. The former international guard Charlisse Leger-Walker (178-1, college: WSU) notched 25 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Krystal Leger-Walker (175-97, college: WSU) supported her with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 7 assists and 5 steals. Four Wizards players scored in double figures. Even 11 points by Caitlin O'Connell (178-2) did not help to save the game for Goldrush. Forward Bronwyn Kjestrup (180-96) added 5 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Wizards will meet at home Breeze in the next round. Goldrush will play against Breeze in Glenfield and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
