Regular Season Round 2: Sydney - Illawarra 84-92

Kings recorded a loss in Sydney. Hosts were defeated by Illawarra Hawks 92-84. International center Duop Reath (210-96, college: LSU) notched 27 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Antonius Cleveland (196-94, college: SEMO) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Even a double-double of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists by forward Xavier Cooks (203-95, college: Winthrop) did not help to save the game for Kings. International guard Angus Glover (192-98) added 16 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Four Illawarra Hawks and five Kings players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Illawarra Hawks will play against New Zealand Breakers in Auckland in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kings will play at home against Melbourne Phoenix to get more than just one victory in their record.
