The game with biggest result difference took place in Werribee. Local Devils outscored Steelers 118-73 on Sunday night. Devils made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 Steelers turnovers and outrebounded them 42-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. Devils looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 6 passes made by Steelers' players. The game was dominated by American players. Point guard Maurice Howard (185-1997, college: Alcorn St., agency: Green Sports Management) scored 40 points (!!!) and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and forward Kavione Green (195, college: Bloomfield) chipped in 14 points and 14 rebounds during the contest. Worth to mention Howard played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Five Devils players scored in double figures. Forward Naaman Hightower (201-1994, college: Sonoma St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists (on 10-of-11 shooting from the field) and guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) scored 26 points and 4 steals. Steelers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Devils will meet Cougars in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Steelers will play against Hume City Broncos in Tullamarine and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
