Everything could happen in Floreat at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Senators and bottom-ranked Hawks had identical 0-0 record. But Hawks were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Perth 90-85 on Friday night. Senators forced 29 Hawks turnovers. Strangely Hawks outrebounded Senators 41-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Stacey Barr (173-1992, college: Idaho) who scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Chloe Forster (175-2003) chipped in 29 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Ruby Vlahov produced 24 points and Jenna Teasdale added 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Senators (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fifth place in League. Loser Hawks still closes the standings with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
