Everything could happen in Floreat at the game between two tied teams. Both leader Senators and bottom-ranked Hawks had identical 0-0 record. But Hawks were not able to use a home court advantage and lost to the opponent from Perth 90-85 on Friday night. Senators forced 29 Hawks turnovers. Strangely Hawks outrebounded Senators 41-28 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Stacey Barr (173-1992, college: Idaho) who scored 29 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Chloe Forster (175-2003) chipped in 29 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Ruby Vlahov produced 24 points and Jenna Teasdale added 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) respectively for the hosts. Senators (1-0) left bottom position moving up to fifth place in League. Loser Hawks still closes the standings with one game lost.
