Regular Season Round 4: Western Port - McKinnon C. 70-95

Not a big story in a game in Western Port where bottom-ranked Steelers (0-5) were rolled over by third ranked Cougars (4-1) 95-70 on Saturday. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St.) fired a double-double by scoring 17 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. Anthony Kimble (196-1987, college: GSC) chipped in 20 points and 5 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Kimble is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) produced 25 points and 6 rebounds and forward Naaman Hightower (201-1994, college: Sonoma St.) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Cougars moved-up to second place in League. Loser Steelers still closes the standings with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
