Everything went according to plan in Bunbury where top-ranked Buccaneers (2-0) outscored bottom-ranked Slammers (0-2) 94-62 on Saturday. Buccaneers dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 36. They outrebounded Slammers 53-32 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. American Cameron Coleman (198-92, college: York, NE, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) fired 28 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. The other American import guard Shaun Stewart (183-94, college: Limestone, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) chipped in 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Caleb Van De Griend produced 9 points and 13 rebounds and guard Brody England (191-1999) added 18 points respectively for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Buccaneers keep a position of League leader. Loser Slammers still closes the standings with two games lost. Buccaneers will meet Magic (#13) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Slammers will play against the league's second-placed Redbacks in Northbridge and hope to get finally their first victory.
