Everything could happen in Maitland at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Mustangs and 11th ranked Hills Hornets had identical 1-1 record. This time Mustangs used a home court advantage and edged the opponent from Baulkham Hills 87-84 on Saturday night. However just three-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. New Zealand center James Hunter (208-1991, college: S.Dakota) fired a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Jack Edwards chipped in 13 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Mustangs' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-1989, college: MSU Denver) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and Liam Moss added 13 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals respectively for lost side. Despite that victory Mustangs went down to fourth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Hills Hornets dropped to the ninth place with two games lost. Mustangs will meet league's leader Bulls in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Hills Hornets will play against Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (#5) and hope to win that game.
