Waverley Falcons' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team.They used home court advantage to defeat Bendigo Braves (0-2) 76-74 on Sunday. Forward Tristan Forsyth (208, college: CBU) nailed 8 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side and guard Dexter Kernich-Drew (199-1991, college: WSU) accounted for 14 points and 7 rebounds. Waverley Falcons' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American swingman Malcolm Bernard (198-1994, college: Xavier) came up with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Luke Rosendale added 16 points respectively for Bendigo Braves in the defeat. Four Bendigo Braves players scored in double figures. Waverley Falcons (1-0) left bottom position moving up to eighth place in League. Loser Bendigo Braves still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
