Everything went according to plan in Pasadena where second ranked Sturt Sabres (4-2) beat 6th ranked Norwood Flames (2-3) 86-77 on Saturday. Sturt Sabres outrebounded Norwood Flames 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Guard Sam Daly (193-1995, college: Chaminade) fired 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Forward Jacob Rigoni (198-1998, college: Quinnipiac) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. Sturt Sabres' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Anthony Green (208-1996, college: Northeastern) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and forward Raymond Harding (198, college: Southeast CC) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Five Sturt Sabres and four Norwood Flames players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Sturt Sabres went down to fourth position (League) due to points difference. Loser Norwood Flames keep the sixth place with three games lost. Sturt Sabres will meet at home higher ranked Forestville Eagles (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Norwood Flames will have a break next round.
