Very predictable result in Cheltenham where ninth ranked Tigers (2-2) defeated 17th ranked Sabres (1-4) 84-79 on Saturday. Forward Felix Von Hofe (196-1993, college: EWU) fired 27 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Guard Michael Wearne (188-1996, college: St.Rose, NY) chipped in 21 points and 4 steals. Tigers' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Tohiraukura Smith-milner produced 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international power forward David Okwera (213-2002) added 13 points and 12 rebounds respectively for lost side. Four Sabres players scored in double figures. Despite that victory Tigers went down to eleventh position (League) due to points difference. Loser Sabres keep the seventeenth place with four games lost. Tigers will meet at home higher ranked Spectres (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sabres will play against Frankston Blues (#5) in Seaford and hope to win that game.
