Brisbane Capitals (2-1) recorded its first loss on the court of sixth ranked Mackay Meteors on Friday night. Visitors were edged by Mackay Meteors 69-66. It was a key game for the second position in League. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Mackay Meteors made 10 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Biwali Bayles (185-2002, college: Hawaii) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized South Sudanese power forward Emmanuel Malou (206-1993, college: Iowa St., agency: BIG) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. Forward Max Mackinnon (196-2003) produced 19 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Lachlan Dent (184-2000) added 15 points and 7 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Mackay Meteors (3-1) moved-up to second place in League. Brisbane Capitals at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. Mackay Meteors will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game.
