Everything went according to plan in Loganholme where top-ranked Thunder (4-0) outscored 9th ranked Meteorettes (3-5) 93-53. Thunder made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Thunder outrebounded Meteorettes 50-30 including a 34-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Meteorettes were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward Mikaela Ruef (191-1990, college: Stanford) notched a double-double by scoring 20 points, 21 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and New Zealand forward Ashley Taia (182-1994, college: Indiana St.) supported her with 20 points and 5 assists. Four Thunder players scored in double figures. Thunder's coach felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 11 points by American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-1994, college: S.Florida) did not help to save the game for Meteorettes. Center Skye Rees (190-1989, college: Arkansas) added 9 points. Thunder moved-up to second place in League. Meteorettes at the other side keep the ninth position with five games lost. Thunder will play against Capitals (#5) in Brisbane in the next round.
