Not a big story in a game in Seaford where 12th ranked Frankston Blues (4-5) were defeated by second ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers (8-1) 81-65 on Saturday. Mount Gambier Pioneers outrebounded Frankston Blues 45-30 including a 37-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Canadian swingman Cassandra Brown (189-1992, college: Portland) fired a double-double by scoring 31 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Guard Sherrie Calleia (172-1999) chipped in 14 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. International guard Tessa Lavey (172-1993) produced 20 points and 6 rebounds and forward Chelsea DAngelo (180-2000) added 18 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers keep a position of League leader. Loser Frankston Blues dropped to the fourteenth place with five games lost.
