Regular Season Round 23: Blackburn V. - McKinnon C. 77-89

Date: June 5, 2022
No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Cougars (7-4) beat 6th ranked Vikings (4-8) in Melbourne 89-77 on Sunday. Cougars made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Cougars outrebounded Vikings 44-31 including 33 on the defensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Sharif Black (185-1996, college: Bemidji St.) who led the winners and scored 24 points and 9 rebounds. Nicholas Laycock accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side. Cougars' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward DMonte Evans (190, college: Bluefield) came up with 29 points and Edward Bourke added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Vikings in the defeat. Four Vikings players scored in double figures. Cougars moved-up to third place in League. Loser Vikings keep the sixth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
