No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Northside Wizards (5-2) beat 11th ranked South West Metro Pirates (3-5) in Taigum 93-77 on Saturday. Northside Wizards made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. Northside Wizards outrebounded South West Metro Pirates 55-30 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Naturalized South Sudanese guard Lual Diing (203-1994, college: TxWes) nailed a double-double by scoring 28 points and 19 rebounds for the winning side and the former international guard Mitchell McCarron (189-1992, college: MSU Denver) accounted for 12 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Five Northside Wizards players scored in double figures. Guard Brendan Teys (188-1990) came up with 16 points and 5 rebounds and Joel Matysek added 13 points respectively for South West Metro Pirates in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Northside Wizards moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser South West Metro Pirates keep the eleventh position with five games lost. Northside Wizards will meet Ipswich Force (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. South West Metro Pirates will play against Seahawks and hope to secure a win.
