Rather expected game when 10th ranked Roar (2-4) was smashed by seventh ranked Meteorettes (6-6) in Brisbane 85-56 on Saturday. Meteorettes outrebounded Roar 54-41 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Alisia Jenkins (186-1994, college: S.Florida) notched a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Shaneice Swain (175-2003) supported her with 25 points. Even a double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds by American forward Mia Loyd (181-1994, college: N.Dakota) did not help to save the game for Roar. Her fellow American import guard Ariana Moorer (172-1991, college: Virginia) added 17 points and 6 rebounds for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Meteorettes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to sixth place. Roar lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with four games lost. Meteorettes will meet at home higher ranked Flames (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Roar will play against Rollers (#9) in Gold Coast and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
