Very predictable result in Joondalup where third ranked Wanneroo (9-3) beat 9th ranked Redbacks (6-6) 96-91 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Wanneroo made 9 blocks. Swingman Julian Pesava (193-1995, college: WBU) had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman CJ Turnage (201-1995, college: SVSU) chipped in 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds during the contest. Swingman Tevin Jackson (202-1994, college: McNeese St.) responded with 22 points and 5 rebounds and forward Isaac Gattorna-Hargrave (201-1999) scored 21 points and 6 rebounds (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line). Four Wanneroo and five Redbacks players scored in double figures. Wanneroo maintains third position in League with 9-3 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Mackay M. Loser Redbacks keep the ninth place with six games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
