Mackay Meteors outrebounded Townsville Heat 49-36 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Naturalized American forward Kyrin Galloway (203-1999, college: UNCG) had a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Biwali Bayles (185-2002, college: Hawaii) chipped in 10 points, 12 rebounds and 13 assists during the contest. Forward Richard Peachey (196-2003) responded with 23 points and 7 rebounds and the former international power forward Samson Froling (212-2000, college: Creighton) scored 19 points and 9 rebounds.
