No shocking result in a game in Melbourne where first ranked Jets (13-1) smashed bottom-ranked Gulls (0-12) 108-77 on Saturday. Jets dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Gulls' 40. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Ishmael Sanders (188, college: C-N) scored 33 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import forward Gerald Blackshear (205-1997, college: Detroit) chipped in 19 points and 17 rebounds during the contest. Four Jets players scored in double figures. Jets' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Aaron Frost (206, college: Dawson CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds and point guard Kirk Smith (178) scored 25 points. Jets maintains first position in League with 13-1 record. Loser Gulls still closes the standings with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
