Regular Season Round 23: Bendigo LB - Dandenong R. 99-73
Date: June 18, 2022
Very predictable result when fourth ranked Lady Braves (9-2) rolled over 18th ranked Rangers (3-7) in Bendigo 99-73 on Saturday. Lady Braves dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Rangers' 40. Lady Braves had a 28-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Rangers' players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Megan McKay (190-1997, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led the winners and scored 40 points (!!!) and 9 rebounds (on 16-of-20 shooting from the field). The former international forward Tess Madgen (183-1990) accounted for 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Four Lady Braves players scored in double figures. American forward Emilee Harmon (189, college: Ohio St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and Tenaya Sooalo added 17 points respectively for Rangers in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lady Braves moved-up to second place in League. Loser Rangers dropped to the nineteenth position with seven games lost. Lady Braves will meet at home Frankston Blues (#15) in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Rangers will play against Ballarat Rush (#11) and hope to secure a win.
