Very expected game when 17th ranked Tigers (2-8) lost to thirteenth ranked NW Tasmania Thunder (5-5) in Melbourne 69-76 on Sunday. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman Elijah Thomas (198-1998, college: CBU, agency: Helping Ballers) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Sean Macdonald (185-2000) accounted for 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. Forward Mason Gaze (198, college: Lindenwood) came up with 15 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Dogukan Elyazar added 19 points respectively for Tigers in the defeat. Tigers' coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. NW Tasmania Thunder moved-up to eleventh place in League. Loser Tigers keep the seventeenth position with eight games lost. NW Tasmania Thunder will meet higher ranked Geelong Supercats (#3) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tigers will play against Kilsyth Cobras (#8) and hope to secure a win.
