Important game to mention about took place in Palmerston North. Ninth ranked Jets (5-7) saved a 3-point victory at home edging much higher ranked Hawks (7-5) 90-87 on Tuesday evening. Jets players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 10 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Jordanian-American center John Bohannon (211-1991, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 11 points, 15 rebounds, 5 assists and 6 blocks. American forward Robert Crawford (198-1990, college: Cent Arkansas) contributed with 25 points for the winners. Four Jets players scored in double figures. Jets' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. The former international forward Jordan Hunt (205-1997, college: S.Oregon) replied with 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Quintin Bailey (201-1997, college: John Brown) added 20 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. Jets moved-up to eighth place. Hawks at the other side dropped to the third position with five games lost. They share it with Mountainairs. Jets will play against higher ranked Bulls (#5) in Pukekohe in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Hawks will play at home against Nuggets and hope to get back on the winning track.
