No shocking result in a game when seventh ranked Dolphins (7-4) crushed 13th ranked Sunshine CP (1-11) in Cotton Tree 119-54 on Friday. Dolphins dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Sunshine CP's 32. They outrebounded Sunshine CP 68-27 including a 25-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Dolphins looked well-organized offensively handing out 36 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Sunshine CP's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dolphins made 7 blocks. It was an exceptional evening for the former international center Cayla George (193-1989) who led the winners with a triple-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 21 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 blocks. New Zealand forward Penina Davidson (190-1995, college: California) accounted for 27 points, 19 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side. Swingman Amy Browne (178-1990) came up with 13 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Ashleigh Frampton (180-1992, college: WWU) added 4 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Sunshine CP in the defeat. Sunshine CP's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Dolphins maintains seventh place in League with 7-4 record. Loser Sunshine CP keeps the thirteenth position with 11 games lost. Dolphins will meet Rip City (#11) in the next round.
