There was no surprise when 9th ranked Redbacks (6-8) lost to third ranked Flames (11-3) in Northbridge 110-114 on Friday. Flames made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. Strangely Redbacks outrebounded Flames 54-40 including 17 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Naturalized American guard Marshall Nelson (184-1994, college: WBU) notched 39 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals to lead the effort and American guard Devondrick Walker (196-1992, college: A&M-Commerce) supported him with 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists (went 11 for 11 at the free throw line !!!). Even a double-double of 28 points and 13 rebounds by power forward Louis Timms (206-1991, college: WBU) did not help to save the game for Redbacks. Forward Isaac Gattorna-Hargrave (201-1999) added 29 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Redbacks' coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Flames moved-up to second place in League. Loser Redbacks keep the ninth position with eight games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
