There was no surprise in Bulleen where 7th ranked Gulls (5-12) were defeated by second ranked Boomers (14-3) 73-55 on Saturday. Naturalized British forward Louella Tomlinson (193-1988, college: St.Mary's, CA) had a double-double by scoring 18 points, 12 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and forward Olivia Bontempelli (179-1993) chipped in 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Lee Burch with 18 points and guard Sammie Simmons (173-1990) scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Boomers maintains second position in League with 14-3 record having just three point less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Gulls keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
