Regular Season Round 31: Norths Bears - Albury LB 78-87

An interesting game for Lady Bandits (12-2) which played road game in Crows Nest against 3rd placed North Bears (9-3). First ranked Lady Bandits managed to get a 9-point victory 87-78. Lady Bandits had a 19-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists. It was a great evening for American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Her fellow American import center Lauren Jackson (190, college: Lindsey Wilson) helped adding 28 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side Austrian center Sarah Schicher (187-1990, college: Dowling) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 13 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 blocks and forward Carla Pitman (180-2004) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Five North Bears players scored in double figures. Lady Bandits maintains first place in League with 12-2 record. North Bears at the other side keep the third position with three games lost. Lady Bandits will play against Hunters (#6) in Newcastle in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. North Bears will play at home against the league's second-placed Sharks and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
