Very expected game in Gawler where 9th ranked Central District Lions (3-11) were defeated by third ranked Forestville Eagles (11-4) 88-74 on Sunday. It was a great evening for forward Jack Purchase (203-1995, college: Hawaii) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Naturalized South Sudanese forward Malith Machar (198, college: Midland CC) helped adding 22 points and 12 rebounds. Five Forestville Eagles players scored in double figures. American forward Tobias Dowdell (201-1990, college: ABU) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and the other American import swingman Branden Jenkins (196-1994, college: TxWes) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Forestville Eagles moved-up to second place in League. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth position with 11 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
