Very predictable result in Maitland where second ranked North Bears (11-3) smashed 10th ranked Mustangs (3-12) 91-60 on Sunday. North Bears forced 19 Mustangs turnovers and outrebounded them 46-32 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was Austrian center Sarah Schicher (187-1990, college: Dowling) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 19 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. New Zealand forward Jessica Bygate (186-1992) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Five North Bears players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Mikaela Dombkins (181-1986) who recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and Rachel Williams added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively. North Bears maintains second place in League with 11-3 record having seven points less than leader Bendigo LB. Loser Mustangs keep the tenth position with 12 games lost. North Bears will meet at home Bulls (#11) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Mustangs will play against the league's leader Lady Bandits in Albury and hope to secure a win.
