Very expected game when 18th ranked Tigers (4-13) were smashed by sixth ranked Geelong Supercats (11-6) in Melbourne 97-75 on Sunday. Geelong Supercats outrebounded Tigers 40-26 including a 31-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. They shot the lights out from three sinking 18 long-distance shots on high 56.3 percentage. Geelong Supercats looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The winners were led by guard Gabriel Hadley (190-1998) who scored that evening 26 points and American Isaac Turner (191-1992, college: St.Vincent) supported him with 24 points. Even 19 points by Taj Chehhal did not help to save the game for Tigers. Guard Michael Wearne (188-1996, college: St.Rose, NY) added 14 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Four Tigers players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Geelong Supercats maintains sixth position in League with 11-6 record. Loser Tigers keep the eighteenth place with 13 games lost. Geelong Supercats will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tigers will play against Knox Raiders (#10) in Wantirna South and hope to secure a win.
