Very significant was Whai's (#3, 4-4) victory against second-ranked Queens (3-4) 78-70. It was a key game for the second position in the league. It was a great shooting night for Whai especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kyra Lambert (175-1996, college: Texas) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. The former international guard Matangiroa Flavell (180-1997, college: HBU) chipped in 22 points and 5 assists. Argentinian-Italian point guard Florencia Chagas (180-2001) produced 23 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman Jaime Nared (188-1995, college: Tennessee) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Queens' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Whai (4-4) moved-up to second place. Loser Queens dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with Mainland P.. Whai will meet at home league's leader Kahu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Queens will play against Pouakai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
