Regular Season Round 36: Knox R. - Melbourne T. 94-42
Date: July 30, 2022
No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked Knox Raiders (12-7) crushed 20th ranked Tigers (3-14) in Wantirna South 94-42 on Saturday. Knox Raiders forced 21 Tigers turnovers and outrebounded them 43-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. The winners were led by forward Alicia Froling (190-1996, college: SMU) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 27 points and 17 rebounds and forward Klara Wischer (185-1991, college: San Diego) supported her with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Even 10 points by guard Courtney Gaze (183, college: Fresno St.) did not help to save the game for Tigers. Lily Carmody added 10 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Knox Raiders maintains eighth position in League with 12-7 record. Loser Tigers keep the twentieth place with 14 games lost. Knox Raiders will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tigers will play against Rangers (#18) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
