Regular Season Round 36: Diamond VE - Eltham W. 98-62

There was a surprise result when twenty first ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (2-18) rolled over higher ranked Wildcats (7-11) in Greensborough 98-62 on Saturday. Diamond Valley Eagles dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Wildcats' 32. Diamond Valley Eagles forced 27 Wildcats turnovers. They shot the lights out from three sinking 12 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. The winners were led by power forward Sophie Burrows (184-2004) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and the former international forward Hope Terdich (192-1986) supported her with 17 points and 9 rebounds. Even 15 points and 9 rebounds by American forward Korinne Campbell (184-1988, college: WVU) did not help to save the game for Wildcats. Her fellow American import swingman Hailey Leidel (180-1997, college: UMass) added 14 points. Diamond Valley Eagles maintains twenty first position in League with 2-18 record. Loser Wildcats dropped to the fourteenth place with 11 games lost. Diamond Valley Eagles will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Wildcats will play against Spectres (#7) and hope to secure a win.
