No shocking result in a game when second ranked Queens (7-4) beat at home bottom-ranked Hoiho (1-10) 89-74 on Wednesday. Queens dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Hoiho's 24. Queens forced 20 Hoiho turnovers and had a 26-14 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Stella Beck (183-1995, college: St.Mary's, CA) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals (on 9-of-10 shooting from the field). American swingman Jaime Nared (188-1995, college: Tennessee) accounted for 14 points and 8 rebounds for the winning side. Five Queens players scored in double figures. American power forward Laina Snyder (185-1995, college: Ashland) came up with 31 points and 5 rebounds and the former international guard Samara Gallaher (175-1992) added 15 points respectively for Hoiho in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Queens have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 7-4 record having just one point less than leader N. Kahu. Hoiho lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Queens will meet at home league's leader Kahu in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Hoiho will play against Whai (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
