Regular Season Round 39: Illawarra H. - Albury LB 67-98

Leader Lady Bandits delivered the sixteenth victory. This time they crushed 5th ranked Hawks (11-7) 98-67 in Wollongong. Lady Bandits forced 19 Hawks turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 28 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Hawks' players. It was a good game for American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 19 rebounds. Japanese guard Ai Yamada (170-1995) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 assists for the winners. Rebecca Abel answered with 15 points and 7 rebounds and guard Georgia Ohrdorf (183-1995, college: MSU Denver) added 14 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Hawks. Lady Bandits maintains first place in League with 16-3 record. Hawks at the other side keep the fifth position with seven games lost. Lady Bandits will play against Hills Hornets (#7) in Baulkham Hills in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Hawks will play on the road against the league's second-placed Sharks in Sutherland and hope to get back on the winning track.
