No shocking result in a game when Illawarra Hawks beat Melbourne Phoenix in Gwynneville 85-72 on Thursday. American guard Tyler Harvey (194-1993, college: EWU) notched 22 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the other American import swingman George King (198-1994, college: Colorado, agency: Slash Sports) supported him with 16 points. Illawarra Hawks' coach Brian Goorjian used an eleven-player rotation saving starting five for next games. Even 21 points and 7 rebounds by naturalized South Sudanese guard Junior Madut (198-1997, college: Hawaii) did not help to save the game for Melbourne Phoenix.
