Rather expected game when 10th ranked Bullets (1-5) were edged on the road by eighth ranked Melbourne Phoenix (3-3) 89-88 on Saturday. Melbourne Phoenix looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international swingman Mitch Creek (196-1992) who helped to win the game recording 31 points and 7 rebounds (made all of his eight free throws) and American-Puerto Rican point guard Gary Browne (185-1993, college: WVU) who added 7 points, 11 assists and 4 steals during the contest. Four Melbourne Phoenix and five Bullets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Melbourne Phoenix moved-up to sixth place. Bullets lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Illawarra. Melbourne Phoenix will meet at home Adelaide 36ers (#7) in the next round.
