Australia-Fiji 99:53

Australia advanced to the Final game of the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The home side of the tournament overcame Fiji 99:53 in the second Semifinal of the day.
Australia was the favorite of the game and proved their ambitions in the start of the game. They took 25-17 lead in the first period and never looked behind after. Moreover they limited the guests to just 6 points in the second period and led 43:23 at the halftime. Australia managed to win the third quarter 32-20 and finished the game with 24-20 in the last stanza.
William Mcdowell-White stepped up with 20 points for the hosts and Darryl Mcdowell-White added 14. Dejan Vasiljevic delivered 13, while Jacob Pupavac and Jock Perry scored 9 each. Mataika Koyamainavure finished the game with 19 points in defeat and Filimoni Vulimailaucala tossed in 10.

MIKA VUKONA Mike Pero Nelson Giants (NBL) inked experienced 35-year old New Zealander international center Mika Vukona (197-93kg-82). It is actually his comeback to Giants as he has played here before. Vukona has a double citizenship as he also holds Fijian passport. Fiji National Team win All Star Game - 7 months ago
Fiji National Team celebrated victory in the All-Star Game in the country. They clashed with USP All Stars at the showdown. Basketball Fiji organised the event. Fiji National Team dominated from start to finish. They recorded a 66:36 win at the end. Jonathon Uluiviti was named the MVP.   [read more]
