Guam-Fiji 65:70

Fiji clinched Bronze at the 2012 Pacific Youth Championships. The team overcame Guam 70:65 in the game for the 3rd-4th places.
Fiji opened the game with 19-7 lead, but allowed the opponents to tie the game after 13-25 in the second frame. Guam tied it at 32:32 at the halftime and even took 4-point advantage entering the last stanza. Fiji however needed a strong 22-13 surge in the last stanza to win the game.
Mataika Koyamainavure top-scored for the winners with 26 points and Ulaiasi Koroi delivered 12. Pita Sowakula posted 11, while Filimoni Vulimailaucala added 9. Valiant Borja replied with 16 points in the losing effort and Bruce Merrill tossed in 11. Samuel Sotelo and Maksever Kepwe followed them with 9 points in a loss.
Guam made 33 Total Rebounds versus 32 of Fiji.

Cheshire Phoenix (BBL) inked 22-year old Fijian international forward Joshua Fox (198-95kg-94). He just graduated from Cal-Davis (NCAA). In 28 games he recorded 14.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg last season. A very good year in his career as he was voted to All-Big West 2nd Team. U18 Basketball Reps Prepare For Oceania - 3 months ago

The Fijian basketball team are gearing up for the U18 Oceania Basketball Championship, to be played at the Vodafone Arena, Suva in December. With only five months to go, Basketball Fiji along with International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Oceania and the Australian Basketball Statistics Committee has kicked started preparations by conducting technical training. New winners in secondary schools basketball tourney - 4 months ago

THE Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball competition yesterday featured new winners in the under-15, U17 and U19 grades for the boys and girls divisions. Yat Sen Secondary School boys thrashed Latter-day Saints College 27-15 in the U15 final of the Tuckers Ice Cream-sponsored tournament.
