Valerie Nainima (165-G-86, college: S.Carolina) pulls her Oberhausen to Cup title. The player from Fuji top-scored in the Final game. On Saturday evo New Basket Oberhausen overcame OKE Panthers 69:58. In another Semifinal Rhein-Main Baskets edged TSV 1880 Wasserburg 100:85.
In the game for the third place TSV 1880 Wasserburg outscored OKE Panthers 83:77. Rebecca Thoresen stepped up with 25 points and 8 rebounds, while Brittainey Raven netted 12. Emma Cannon erupted with 35 points and 15 rebounds in defeat.
In the Final game evo New Basket Oberhausen needed 84:72 win over Rhein-Main Baskets to take the trophy. Valerie Nainima top-scored for the winners with 24 points and Sarah Austmann netted 15. Leonie Prudent and Whitney Edwina Jones followed them with 13 points each. Jaclyn Thoman delivered 15 points in defeat while Anna-lisa Rexroth and Baendu Lowenthal had 13 each.

Papua New Guinea - Fiji 77:58 Papua New Guinea win Melanesia Cup and were crowned champions tonight. They edged Fiji 77:58 in the Final game. The hosts took a 17-16 narrow lead after the first 10 minutes and added a 22-10 surge in the second frame. Fiji - Solomon Islands 76-54 Fiji rout Solomon Islands in Port Moresby in Day 2 of the Melanesia Cup 2017. Trailing 17-20 at the end of the first period, Fiji needed a strong 20-9 surge to take a 37-29 halftime advantage. Fiji claim 6th at FIBA Women's Asia Cup 2017 - 2 months ago
Team Fiji has rounded out their Bengaluru campaign by taking home 6th place in the tournament. With this being the first ever time competition in the event it is a great result which can be built upon for the future. Singapore pushed out to an early lead and Fiji did everything they could to fight back but eventually fell 65-80.
