New Caledonia finished fifth at the Pacific Championship 2013. They outscored Fiji 73:54 in their last game of the competition.
New Caledonia erupted with a 27-9 surge in the first period and never looked behind after. They added defensive 15-6 rally in the second frame and increased to 42:15 at the halftime. Fiji meanwhile looked better in the second half and managed to win both quarters. They came up with a 19-12 run in the third period and closed the game with a 20-19 rally.
Todikromo paced all the winners with 15 points, while Taufana collected 14 points and 14 rebounds. Joan Delaunay-Belleville notched 11, whilst Ruben Ha Ho and Myriam Fenuafanote added 8 each. Leonard Whippy (180-G-82, college: BYU-Hawaii) poured in 18 points in the losing effort and Pita Sowakula had 11 points and 11 boards. Tabuduka posted 9, whilst Seruvatu brought 7.

MIKA VUKONA Mike Pero Nelson Giants (NBL) inked experienced 35-year old New Zealander international center Mika Vukona (197-93kg-82). It is actually his comeback to Giants as he has played here before. Vukona has a double citizenship as he also holds Fijian passport. Fiji National Team win All Star Game - 9 months ago
Fiji National Team celebrated victory in the All-Star Game in the country. They clashed with USP All Stars at the showdown. Basketball Fiji organised the event. Fiji National Team dominated from start to finish. They recorded a 66:36 win at the end. Jonathon Uluiviti was named the MVP.   [read more]
