New Caledonia finished fifth at the Pacific Championship 2013. They outscored Fiji 73:54 in their last game of the competition.
New Caledonia erupted with a 27-9 surge in the first period and never looked behind after. They added defensive 15-6 rally in the second frame and increased to 42:15 at the halftime. Fiji meanwhile looked better in the second half and managed to win both quarters. They came up with a 19-12 run in the third period and closed the game with a 20-19 rally.
Todikromo paced all the winners with 15 points, while Taufana collected 14 points and 14 rebounds. Joan Delaunay-Belleville notched 11, whilst Ruben Ha Ho and Myriam Fenuafanote added 8 each. Leonard Whippy (180-G-82, college: BYU-Hawaii) poured in 18 points in the losing effort and Pita Sowakula had 11 points and 11 boards. Tabuduka posted 9, whilst Seruvatu brought 7.

Samoa wins gold - 3 months ago
FIJI under-18 basketball men's team lost to Samoa 57-61 in the gold medal match of the B division in the 2016 International Basketball Federation Oceania U18 Championship yesterday. The match was played at the Vodafone Arena in Suva. Fiji led 18-9 at the end of the first quarter before Samoa came back in the other three quarters winning 15-13, 17-11 and 20-15. 22-year old Fijian international forward Joshua Fox (198-95kg-94). He just graduated from Cal-Davis (NCAA). In 28 games he recorded 14.8ppg, 6.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.1spg last season.
