Guam National Team wrapped up their preliminary round campaign at the Oceania championship with a loud victory. They stunned New Zealand today to clinch the third spot. New Zealand slipped at 1-3 record and would face Australia in the semifinal.

Guam stayed aggressive right from the start as they ensured a 21:13 lead at the first intermission. Guam maintained the pressure in the second quarter as they took advantage of 7 turnovers from New Zealand. The lead grew at 19 points at halftime as Guam controlled the situation. New Zealand needed a drastic change in the second half but it never came. Moreover the Emerging Tall Blacks scored only 5 points in the period falling behind by 24. Guam coasted to the win in the final stanza posting the second victory at the tournament.
