Fiji stepped onto the pedestal at the Pacific Youth Championships. They defeated Guam in the consolation final to claim the Bronze medals. Tiyana Kainamoli posted 16 points and 11 rebounds for the winners.
Fiji eked out an 18:13 lead after the starting frame. They maintained the lead throughout the second quarter. Fiji accounted for a 35:26 halftime advantage. Fiji stretched the gap in the third term. They accumulated a 10-point lead with ten minutes remaining. Fiji exploded with 22 points in the fourth period and celebrated victory at the end. Ro Naivaluvou netted 15 points, while Georgina Balenacagi had 12 points and 9 rebounds in the win. Alina Bonto scored game-high 18 points for Guam. Kaelin Soriano netted 11 points in the loss.

Former Guam basketball standout Destiny Castro(168-SG-97) continues to make news as a standout player for the Chaminade Silverswords. In Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam girls basketball action on Tuesday night, the George Washington Geckos defended their home court against the Guam High Panthers to take the win 40-29.
