Papua New Guinea-Guam 61:84

Guam outscore Papua New Guinea in Day 3 of the Pacific Championship. They finished second in Pool I after an 84:61 win. Papua New Guinea remained winless at the tournament.
Guam opened the game with a 15-13 lead and added massive 26-6 surge in the second frame. Papua New Guinea bounced back with a 23-18 rally in the third period, but could not come closer. Guam closed the game with a 25-19 run to seal the second win.
Mekeli Wesley (206-F-79, agency: Stanley International, college: BYU) top-scored for the winners with 20 points and William Stinnett (186-G-86, college: Wenatchee Valley CC) nailed 16. Jesus Cruz posted 14, whilst Jine Han delivered 10. Mekeli Wesley ended up with 20 points in the losing effort and William Stinnett produced 16. Jesus Cruz chipped in 14 and Jine Han had 10.

The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team came out on top during their championship match against the KFC Bombers Sunday, Dec. 10. The Tritons ended the game five points ahead of the Bombers, 101 - 96, to take the Triton Men's Basketball League Championship that took place at the University of Guam Field House. It's a big weekend of basketball at the UOG Calvo Field House. The top four men's basketball teams in the Triton Men's Basketball League face off Saturday Dec. 9 following the completion of the first round of playoffs Thursday night. The championship game is 2 p.m. Sunday. And there's the IIAAG Girls High School championship Saturday night too. The University of Guam Men's Basketball Team won their 14th straight game of the fall season and ran their record to 6-0 in the Triton Men's Basketball League on Friday night. They defeated the KFC Bombers 92-82 at the UOG Field House. It was a close game for most of the first half, Bombers led 26-25 at the end of the first quarter.
