Phoenix take Guam Basketball Association season opener - Apr 3, 2017

The Phoenix defeated MacTech 88-77 in the tip-off game of the Guam Basketball Association's Season Four opener at the University of Guam Calvo Field House on Sunday, April 2. Each team racking up their share of fouls and turnovers, MacTech got 14 turnovers to Phoenix's 9. Early in the first quarter, Phoenix pulled ahead with a 16-11 lead over MacTech. Phoenix maintained the lead for the rest of the game. Mactech narrowed the gap late in the second quarter, but Phoenix still led 36-32. Phoenix made 50 percent of their free throws, MacTech made 70 percent of theirs but the Phoenix pulled in the three pointers scoring an average of 39 percent to MacTech's 22 percent.
Outlanders 87, Bombers 103
The Bombers came out on top in their game against the Outlanders with a score of 103-87. Outlanders led Bombers in the first quarter 28-22. The Outlanders maintained the lead into the second quarter, 47-46, over the Bombers. But Bombers were closing in and by the end of the third quarter, took the lead 69-67, ending the Outlanders' 28-minute leading streak. Bombers racked in the points in the fourth quarter, grabbing the win. James Collins led for the Outlanders and Ryheam Trahan led for the Bombers.

UOG 69, ToothFairies 85
The ToothFairies defeated the UOG Tritons 85-69 in the third game of the GBA season opener. UOG took the first quarter lead, 20-18, over the ToothFairies, but that was quickly upended by the ToothFairies early in the second quarter. The ToothFairies took the lead 43-32 over UOG, and they would hold the lead until the final buzzer in the fourth quarter. ToothFairies top scorer Earvin Jose notched in 23 points and UOG's Ryan Nangauta scored 18 points.

On Tuesday night for game three of the Guam Basketball Association Season Three Finals, the KFC Bombers defeated the regular season's best, MVP Stars 103-96 at the UOG Calvo Field House.
