Last month, Guam Basketball Confederation held try-outs for both girls and boys team that will travel to Auckland, New Zealand to play in the Oceania Youth Tourney. A total of thirty-two boys and thirty-four girls are showing off their skills to see who gets to represent their island in the tourney. Vince Acfalle will be heading up the women's team while Tony Thompson will take the helms of the men's team. Both Coaches are excited about the opportunity they have to get their teams ready for battle. Final Selections of the teams will be made by August 31st

Guam's very own dynamic duo is back in action for their second season at Chaminade University. Sophomores Kali Benavente(165-F-98) and Destiny Castro (168-SG-97) are locked in for the new year of basketball, and are excited on what this season has to offer. Joniah Siguenza had less than a second to react, but it was all the time she needed. Siguenza banked in a two-footer as time ran out to score the game-winning basket in overtime. Her team, the St. Paul Christian Warriors, had just claimed the 2017 Independent Interscholastic Athletic Association of Guam's Girls High School basketball championship.
