For the first time, Guam is sending a team in a major FIBA Oceania women tournament. Despite the lack of experience and size, the guameses players wants to have some good games in the FIBA Oceania Youth Tournament in Auckland.

Schedule:
Guam - Papua New Guinea on Oct 15
Guam - Tahiti on Oct 16
Guam - Australia on Oct 17
Playoffs on Oct 19-21

Roster:
April Pardilla
Arlena Gofigan
Chelsie Gofigan
Gebra Naburn
Jazzelle Baranda
Mallary Duenas
Sandy Cruz
Victoria Mendiola

Preview:
Winning in your first tournament is not an easy thing but FIBA Oceania officer Eddie Calic is saying that Guam will play at their best. "While they are a short team, and may suffer from lack of height in rebounding, they will make up for it in their court speed and aggression. I think they will have a successful tournament." he said. Motivation is a great thing but this might not be enough against more talented teams.
Prevision: 8th

You can follow this tournament on our special "FIBA Youth Tournament 2006" page, we will post a recap of the team's games during this event in the days following the Gold medal. Stay tuned.
