Wayne Anjain (F) didn't play in the first game of the Marshall Islands in the tournament. the RMI was crushed by a strong New Caledonia team 46-73. Hopefully Anjain will be back to play Papua New Guinea tomorrow.

Marshall Islands - New Caledonia: 46-73
Against one of the best team in the South Pacific, the Marshall Islands were harmless. Unable to stop their opponent offense, unable to grabb the boards and unable to hit the shots, the Marshalleses were crushed in their opening game. Wayne Anjain (F) didn't play in this game for a reason we don't know yet and that was a blow-out loss for the RMI. Bolear Bokna scored 12pts 2/13FG and 6rbs in 28min, Roney Langrus added 10pts 3/6FG in 21min.

The marshalleses will play Papua New Guinea tomorrow and Fiji on Wednesday.

The championship of the 14th BOMI Ralik Ratak Shootout Basketball Tournament saw the two best teams in the Marshall Islands go head-to-head in what can only be described as a brilliant example of Marshall Islands prime time basketball. Lae controlled the final minutes to defeat Majuro 89-83 before over 2,000 screaming fans. The game had a bit of everything: Dozens of lead changes, impressive drives to the basket by Lae point guard Lajji Maddison and Majuro's shooting guard Jr. Anuntak, sp...   [read more]
