Inter-scholastic Basketball League kick-off - Feb 3, 2006

Basketball officials in the Republic of Marshall Islands along with hundreds of elementary and high school basketball players officially opened the 2006 Inter-Scholastic Basketball league.

 

The event was opened by a small ceremony held at the National Gym Educational Cultural Center on Tuesday, February 1. RMI Secretary for Internal Affairs Wilbur Allen addressed the ceremony on behalf of Sports Minister Rien Morris. Other local and traditional leaders atttended the opening to bless the enthusiasm and interests of the young basketballers. There are 10 elementary and 10 high schools competing in the tournament.

Lae wins 14th BOMI Ralik Ratak Shootout Tournament - 3 Years ago
The championship of the 14th BOMI Ralik Ratak Shootout Basketball Tournament saw the two best teams in the Marshall Islands go head-to-head in what can only be described as a brilliant example of Marshall Islands prime time basketball. Guam wins gold at Micronesian Games - 3 Years ago
FOR the past week, the Guam men's basketball team has dominated the basketball court and was the only team to remain undefeated. The Marshall Islands team was the only one standing in Team Guam's way of winning the gold medal at the 8th Micronesian Games. When the two teams finally met Tuesday at the COM Palikir Gymnasium, Guam played like a well-oiled machine as they continued to outclass the competition, winning the gold medal game by 38 points, to make the final score 88-50   [read more]
