According to Microgames Council president Bill Keldermans, Yap and the Republic of the Marshall Islands both expressed desire to host the seventh edition of the quadrennial event. The two countries, however, were not prepared to present information from their respective governments.

Keldermans explained that if Yap or the Marshall Islands are not awarded the Games, it will most likely be held in Palau or Guam.
